Kamishibai is a form of art that fuses storytelling, music, sounds, and artwork. The Atelier-Kamishibai is dedicated to online kamishibai. A medium now over a decade old. Kamishibai has attracted a diverse collection of people and thusly birthed a variety of art, stories, and series that can be found across the internet.

The purpose of the Atelier-Kamishibai is to form a gathering point for the art and kamishibai that the community has created.

We hope to house many of the works that kamishibai has inspired  with the intention that it will lead to further inspiration in the years to come.

~The Atelier-Kamishibai

Go, Green, Go! is a kamishibai community project started by Sneak-Thieves and Jubell. The project is like a round robin kind of story where you donate a character, draw 10 random scenes for the episode, and then someone will compile everyone's scenes then turn them into a coherent story. You can watch each episode by following the appropriate link:

Anyone is allowed to take part in this project, even if you don't make kamishibai. If you would like to participate in this collaborative project then these are the guidelines you should adhere to:

(For Guest Writers scroll to the bottom of the entry for rules)

:deviation:For the Artists

Art Due Date: 15th of the month
Episodes will premier on the first day of the next month. For example, if you want to do art for the June episode you will need to have all of your art turned in on May 15th.

General Rules For Arisits
:bulletred:All images must be sent by the 15th. If you submit any artwork after the 15th it can only be used in the omake.
:bulletred:Images must be completed and properly sized when sent. Dimensions (200x112), .BMP format
:bulletred:As of now the set images is 7-20 per artists. So the minimum you need to do is 7. That's it.
:bulletred:When submitting an animation you must include the gamefile text for it in a small notepad file title "Animations".(anim, @animspeed, @animloop). all the images should be placed in the order you want in the "anim" line and the speed that they play at in the "@animspeed" line and the loop times at "@animloop". If this is too much, don't create animations. you can check the read me with the kamishibai player for help on creating animations in the gamefile.
:bulletred:After you complete in an episode you will be given the option of staying with the project and doing art for the next episode or resigning. You are of course allowed to come back at any time.
:bulletred:You can participate in this project without donating a character, but you will still need to do at least 7 scenes.
:bulletred:When sending your images include them all in a zip file with your "thanks" file and send them to Jubell or Sneak-Thieves. Also include the name/alias you will like to be credited as.
:bulletred:All Images must be sent to either Jubell or Sneak-Thieves by the 15th to be included in the kamishibai. Writers who are doing art for the project are required to have at least half of their images done by that time as well.
:bulletblue:Omake(extra) images are welcomed at anytime before the 1st of the month (or the release date of the episode you take part in). Any artist can send images or small files(such as midis) to be added in the omake section. Simply put all your images in a folder with your name on it and send it to Jubell or Sneak-Thieves
:bulletblue:All art styles are welcomed. use any tools or programs
you want to create the images.
:bulletblue:Images are not required to be colored.
:bulletblue:The majority of your scenes must focus mainly on the main characters. Be creative but stay on topic. You can submit whatever you like for the omake.
:bulletblue:Animations are allowed, but not required. They count for 1 out of the alloted images.
:bulletblue:There is no content restriction yet. So violence, swearing, nudity and similar content are allowed. but please be tasteful. If such things get out of hand restrictions will be put into place.
:bulletblue:Images will be renamed in order to keep names from overlapping.
:bulletblue:If you wish to include a thank you section or shout out in the credits please send the text with your images in a notepad file titled "thanks" This will be included in the credits. You will only have one scene to give thanks. all extra text will be included in the omake as a read me file.

Rules for the Guest Artist

The Guest Artist is the new artist to the project who is donating their character for inclusion in the series. It is of course possible to be a new artist and participate while not donating a character.

:bulletred:New characters are announced at the 2nd of each month. Therefore if you are the new artist your character will be due the day after the last episode was released.
:bulletred:New characters are free to be designed as pleased. As long as they are not a preexisting character in any other story. The character must have some kind of green included in their design.(Such as: a ring, hair color, eye color, clothes, just something green).
:bulletred:When creating a new character please be sure to write a one sentence description about them for the other artists. Once you send your character in they will be distributed to all the other artists involved in the project by either Jubell or Sneak-Thieves.
:bulletblue:A new character is created each month by a new artist. If no new artists volunteer to take part in the project then one of the artists already involved will create one.
:bulletblue:You do not have to keep working on the project after you do an episode. You are free to stop and come back at anytime.

:work:Writer

Due Date: 1st of the month.
This means that by the first of the next month you need to have the kamishibai fully completed. To be a Writer for this project you do not have to do any artwork, that is optional. If you do decide to do artwork as well you must adhere to the artist rules.

:bulletred:At the 16th of the current month you will receive an email containing all the images. You must use EVERY image at least ONCE. images can be reused as much as you like.
:bulletred:You do NOT have to be an artist for the episode in order to be the writer.
:bullered:If you are also doing art for the episode you must havehalf of them sent in by the 15th. no extra images are allowed, unless they are intended for the omake.
:bulletred:You cannot use the individual images from an animation. An animation counts as a single picture and should not have anything changed about it. there will be a notepad file listing the resources used for the animation. The exception to the rule is that you may use the FIRST and LAST images of animation as a scene as long as you also use the animation itself in the Kamishibai.
:bulletred:Music and sound files are up to you to find on your own, although you may ask for links to places if you need help. Music must be in .mid format. Sound needs to be .wav or .ogg format.
:bulletred:There must be an ending credits section for each episode. Jubell or Sneak-Thieves will do it. You will be credited as the writer and director.
:bulletred:when you have completed the episode please zip all the contents and send them to either Red or Arima. they must be sent in by the 1st. if this does not happen you will be banned from all future episodes as a writer. If you are having a hard time or are not able to complete the kamishibai please send an email or note to Jubell or Sneak-Thieves 4 days before the 1st and ask to pass it off.
:bulletred:In the event that the original writer is not able to finish, Jubell or Sneak-Thieves will write the episode.
:bulletblue:You are able to create transition images. which are only 1 color images or text on a solid color background. Refer to the "flash" and "dark" images in the first episode.
:bulletblue:there is no length requirement. but you must use every image at least once.
:bulletblue:There is no content restriction yet. So violence, swearing, nudity and the such are allowed. but please be tasteful. If such things get out of hand restrictions will be put into place.
:bulletblue:The story can go in any direction you see fit, however do not kill off any characters without their creators consent. You are allowed to kill off your own character. Also try to follow the flow of the episodes before your own.
:bulletblue:If a new character is created you are free to work with them as you please. just remember to keep their name and keep in mind the one sentence description that the creator gives you.
:bulletblue:Do not worry about the Omake section as either Jubell or Sneak-Thieves will include that when it is released.

And that is all there is to it. If you would like to get involved in this project or have a Kamishibai collaboration you would like to advertise here please note one of the admins. Thank You.

The Atelier-Kamishibai is a community that thrives on submissions from the people who make and love Kamishibai. If you have a Kamishibai, fanart, or original kamishibai artwork that you would like to submit and have posted on the site we invite you to do so.

To submit Fanart

In order to submit your fanart for a kamishibai series or one shot:

a)Upload the art piece to your gallery and note one of the administrators with the tagline "Atelier" and a link to the work.

b)Email one of the admins and attach the piece to the email inside of a zipfile. You may also upload the work and then email us with the location so that we can retrieve it.

In order for the submission to be valid it must be based on an existing published kamishibai story. Meaning the story has to be posted and available somewhere or was once widely available.

Please remember to include your name/alias and the name of the kami you're basing your fanart on when you submit.

To submit Original Art

In order to submit artwork you've done for your kamishibai series or one-shot:

a)Upload the art piece to your gallery and note one of the administrators with the tagline "Atelier" and a link to the work.

b)Email one of the admins and attach the piece to the email inside of a zipfile. You may also upload the work and then email us with the location so that we can retrieve it.

You may want to email a lot of work at once and that's fine. Just be sure to include your name/alias so that we know who to credit it to. Also please include the name of the kamishibai you're using.

To submit a Kami

In order to submit a kamishibai you have to email it to one of the admins. RedValkyrie will usually be the one to contact for this kind of thing. Please validate the kami before emailing it, and if you need help with that feel free to ask.

When you email the kami attach the folder in a zip file and include this text in the email itself:

:bulletpurple:Your Author Name/Alias
:bulletpurple:The Kamishibai Description (Just tell us what it's about. Like a plot summary on the back of a novel)
:bulletpurple:Name the preview image you'd like us to use.

For the preview image if you'd like to make a mini poster you can go ahead and include it in the zip file and just tell us where it is. Make sure to save it in the form of a .png or .jpg file, and be creative. Remember your preview image serves as the first look at your kami for the reader!

And that's all there is to Submission!
